Abstract

This work aims to discuss how the use of meta history can implement social criticism, having as reference the novels Desmundo and The portrait of the king of Ana Miranda. Therefore, we seek to analyze how, from the possibilities established between literature and history, this process is operationalized. In this context, we will focus on how the construction of characters and the relationship
established between texts and intertexts presented - full of intertextualities, with hybrid perception and additional characteristic - contribute to the constitution of parameters of social criticism. From this perspective, we will take the conceptual references of Linda Hutcheon (1991), Hayden White (2001), Robert Stam (2006) and Mikhail Bakhtin (2011).
