Abstract

Luís Vaz de Camões wrote, in the 16th century, a famous villancete, entitled “Descalça vai para a fonte”. Based on it, in 1970, the poet and scholar Ana Hatherly wrote a poem, entitled “Leonorana Variação VII”. I will analyze it and give special emphasis to the connection between the Portuguese Experimental Poetry and the Baroque. I will also highlight the intimate and personal way in which Hatherly somehow becomes the camonian Lianor, in the referred labyrinthic poem.
