Abstract

This article seeks to analyze our experience in the translation from Portuguese into Arabic of The hour of star, by Clarice Lispector, which was launched in Egypt on June 24, 2018. Until the present moment, it is the first and only Arabic translation of The Hour of the Star. Following the moments of translation processo suggested by Williams and Chesterman (2002), we will present the process of this translation, from reading and interpretation of the novel, passing by the search for solutions for the problems of translation and reaching until publishing, and the reception of the work in Egypt and Arab countries.
