Abstract

The language studies focused on the functioning of the so-called connectives, conjunctions or operators are based on the legitimate general claim that these elements establish relations of meaning between the segments they unite. However, under this primacy, these relationships would be built based on the confrontation of the “propositions” taken into account, when, in fact (and here lies the hypothesis of this study), they are due to a third element, which, “implicitly”, drives the articulation and production of the resulting effect. With the aim to defend this postulate, I examine some cases of use of connectives and the concepts of intra-discourse, interdiscourse and ideological interpellation, coined from the point of view of French Discourse Analysis founded by Michel Pêcheux.
